Have a close look at the artist impression and the layout plan. This is more than an ANDRA Drag Racing venue, ….
this has got Burnout snake pits, a sprint circuit for Club Cruz'n, Sprints, Drifting, Car Club days, Motorkhana,
Driver Training , and heaps more. The best thing is that this place will be open to all Car Lovers and Motor Heads.

Here are some details
The Drag strip is the latest design in the World featuring a new "Twin Track' (4 lanes) Drag Strip. Have a
think about that for a moment. All the possibilities!
You could race 4 cars at a time; you could run one Bracket of cars on one track and a completely different Bracket
on the other track.
Just imagine, at a street meeting you could get twice the runs in, rather that waiting for hours between runs!
How good is that!
It's great for Drag Racing Fans as well because if one track is being cleaned up, there's another track ready and
waiting to go.
The Drag Strip goes down hill from the start line to get the best advantage for the racer, then when the parachute
comes out, it goes uphill for the first part of the braking area to help slow them down and keep things stable
and safe.
There are two return roads to cater for the movement of multiple drag racing vehicles being towed back, there's
even two Burnout Snake Pits for 'stereo' burnouts and to cater for wind direction.
There's heaps of great seating and its tailored to your budget.
There also plenty of budget and concession seating for those on tight budgets and then there's reserved seating
for those that want to always have the best seat when you get back form the Pit Paddock, after checking out the
cars in the Pit Paddock.
Now let's go over to the sprint Circuit. There is no intension that this is a full on circuit for V8 Supercars
or other circuit racing, this one's for you and your car. It's all about having more fun with your car.
You can have a go with your HSV or FPV (or even your Commodore shopping trolley) around the 2 km sprint circuit.
Perhaps you can even have a go at Drifting or even the Motorkhana. There's also the 'Attitude Change' Driver Training
area and everyone knows that's really important given the Victorian annual road crash fatalities and injuries.
Let's have a look at the pit area for moment. The ANDRA team tell us that that there is enough room for 800 teams
at major Drag Racing events, including room for 'B' Double and semi trailers for the Pro Series Drag Racing Teams.
At last a track with enough pit area for really big events.
It's time to bring the ANDRA Australian Nationals back to the true home in Melbourne. The ANDRA guys tell us that
it's a possibility if the Government does the right thing and builds the ANDRA Melbourne Drag Racing Venue.
Have a look at the spectator car park, you can actually park right out the front near the main entry. This venue
looks spot on and the ANDRA guys tell us it is an evolution of all the things they've learn from the Perth and
Sydney venues, that have been built recently.
Apparently all the traffic is one way and there are slip lanes so everyone can smoothly and quickly exit at the
end of an event.
So where is the venue going to be built? The ANDRA guys say their preferred venue is along the Princes Freeway
between Melbourne and Avalon but the Government is yet to decide. The Government has a consultant working on examining
the sites more thoroughly, so they can pick the best site possible.
